The Saône is one of the largest rivers in Eastern France. It has its source in the Vosges and flows for nearly 500 km into the Rhône, at Lyon. Navigable for more than 3,000 years, the Saône river crosses 3 regions (Grand Est, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) and 6 departments (Vosges, Haute-Saône, Côte-d’Or, Saône-et-Loire, Rhône, Ain). It waters several large cities and towns such as Chalon-sur-Saône, Mâcon and Lyon, and has about fifty tributaries including the Doubs. It is navigable and it is possible to practise several nautical activities such as kayaking, canoeing and rowing.

Your languorous current,
Your reflections of light,
Make my heart happy.
When I’m on your shore,
Following you around,
My being adrift,
Rises a little to God. »
If René Domeguet was able to feel this kind of emotion from the shore, can you imagine the sensations you will feel when you are on the waves?
